La Place is a community located on the north side of Lincoln, east of Invergordon, on the south east side of Mummy Mountain. Not to be confused with La Place du Sommet which is a guard gated community on the eastern slopes of Mummy Mountain. La Place is a tree lined, green oasis centrally located in Paradise Valley. Driving the La Place loop reminds one of a green oasis in the desert with the lush trees and lush lawns. The architecture varies from Colonial, to Tuscan, to New England, to Victorian. There are 28 homes in La Place, mostly built in the 1980′s, with some build into the 90′s. Some homes have been completely remodeled since, while others would require some updating. The feel of the community is definitely of an oasis in the desert.
The public schools which service La Place area are Kiva Elementary, Mohave Jr High and Saguaro High School. For private schools south on Invergordon the former Camelback Desert School (which moved to Scottsdale) was purchased by the Scottsdale Montessori Academy of Scottsdale in June 2010. Scottsdale Montessori Academy is a public charter school K-8, which opened on the former Camelback Desert School campus in August 2010 with 225 students. On the other side of Mummy Mountain at Doubletree and Tatum is Tesseract School.
La Place has spectacular views of Mummy Mountain above it to the north and northwest, and Camelback Mountain to the south, and southwest.
