Clearwater Hills is a gated community in Northwest Paradise Valley. It started in 1955 and was one of the very first gated communities in Arizona. Clearwater Hills is nestled high against the Phoenix Mountain Preserve and many homes have fantastic views of Camelhead, Mummy Mountain and downtown Phoenix below. The Clearwater guard gate is located on Clearwater Parkway west of Tatum Boulevard, 2 lights north of Lincoln Drive. Clearwater Hills has a 217 lots and there are currently 196 homes.The lots are 0.75 to 5 acres and all of the homes in the community were custom built.

Clearwater Hills is on a county island and is one of the last of two county islands that have not been incorporated into Paradise Valley proper. The only other remaining county island in Paradise Valley is the Franciscan Renewal Center on Lincoln. It has an HOA and all exterior modifications to the homes must be approved by the HOA. Clearwater Hills is serviced by the Phoenix Fire Department, Arizona American Water Company, APS, SW Gas and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Dept. The assigned public schools are Kiva Elementary, Mohave Jr High and Saguaro High School. The Phoenix Country Day School is the closest private school located out the back gate.
